Friendship Truck Visited Kocaeli!

8th stop of Culture Nights organised as part of Turkish Summer School was Kocaeli. Travelling from city to city, Friendship Truck met with Kocaeli locals in Kocaeli Fairground.

Program organised by contributions of Kocaeli Governorship and Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, took start as Yunus Emre Enstitüsü and Ministry for Turks Abroad and Related Communities students who receive training in Kocaeli University DİLMER and participate in cultural activities, welcomed the Friendship Truck.

 Kocaeli locals who filled Kocaeli Fairground, welcomed 40 students form 20 countries with open arms. Each student greeted Kocaeli locals and gave messages supporting Turkey. Following various activities with Kocaeli locals, the dinner organised by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality was commenced. After the dinner held in SEKA Park Restaurant the program titled “Culture Night” took start at 8 P.M. Kocaeli Fairground with the screening of a short film on Turkish Summer School.

Received intense interest from Kocaeli locals  Lejla Musinbegovic from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Omar Samim from Afghanistan performed Turkish poems and songs; and  Clara Föller from Germany, Ayşe and Hatice Hadzimejlic, Nisada Visca, and Muemara Skender from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Xhevdet Dafku from Albania and Zainab Abbas from Jordan performed fine examples from Turkish folk dances.

The most exciting moments of the night occurred in the event “I Compete in Turkish”. Hosted by Mert Talat Dilekçioğlu, Violeta Neacsu from Romania, Xhevdet Dafku from Albania, Muhammed Eshage from Sudan, Kenza Essassi from Morocco and Nisada Visca from Bosnia-Herzegovina competed in the competition. Audience enjoyed as Kocaeli locals took part in I Compete in Turkish competition where students answered questions on Turkish culture, history, art, grammar, and Kocaeli.

Nisada Visca came in the first place by answering 7 questions out of 10 right. After the students were presented with prizes, students accompanied songs performed by Kocaeli locals. Event ended at late hours with brotherhood dance.
