Kurtulmuş: YEE will be the Leading Institution of our Cultural Diplomacy

Minister of Culture and Tourism Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş said that Yunus Emre Enstitüsü that promotes Turkey, Turkish culture and language all around the world, will be the leading institution of our cultural diplomacy.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Numan Kurtulmuş visited Yunus Emre Enstitüsü headquarters in Ulus, Ankara, which has 54 cultural centres and 432 personnel in 43 countries serving as Turkey's promotion offices.

Minister Numan Kurtulmuş who received information about the operations of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü that offers education to 2755 students from 80 countries and has taught Turkish to more than 100 thousand trainees in the last 8 years, stated before the closed-door meeting that the Enstitü will become the leading institution of our cultural diplomacy.

Enstitü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş presented Minister Kurtulmuş with a shawl and vase, and Minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister Hüseyin Yayman and Ministry Undersecretary Ömer Arısoy.

40 thousand students in 154 schools

Yunus Emre Enstitüsü centres which provide 2755 student with education in Turkish Summer Schools, serve as Turkey's promotion offices.

Yunus Emre, in which 30 thousand trainees from 83 countries started learning Turkish in 3 months with distance education, has 54 centres in 43 countries.

Enstitü offers education to 40 thousand students in 154 schools worldwide, and schools in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Poland, Japan, Egypt, Montenegro and Romania,  included Turkish in their curriculums as an elective or mandatory foreign language course.
