Minister of Youth and Sports Kılıç stated the following about the meeting in Berlin where he would meet with citizens: "I hope that the events which took place in the past few days, will not happen in the future. And Germany will probably not miss this opportunity for its democracy to ideally advance.”

Minister Kılıç attended a meeting organized with sportsmen, representatives of sports associations and businessmen at Cologne Yunus Emre Enstitüsü. Turkish Consul General to Cologne Hüseyin Emre Engin, General Director of Higher Education Credit and Dormitories Agency (KYK) Sinan Aksu and ministry officials also attended the meeting.

Kılıç marked in the speech he gave before the closed-door meeting that Yunus Emre Enstitüsü would be a great support for the Turkish community in Germany and especially the Turkish language to advance, saying "Because I hope many activities will be carried out under a beautiful brand in a really pleasant atmosphere."

Relaying that he was to attend the July 15^th martyrs commemoration program that day in Cologne, Kılıç said:

"We, as the Ministry of Youth and Sports, have already organized more than 60 'July 15^th' programs in Turkey. We initially launched the program both to remind what happened in Turkey and to correctly inform our country, nation and the world. The event 'Heroes Among Us' was held for over 60 times which means more than 150 thousand participants attended this event."

Referring to the program that would depict the events on July 15^th  Kılıç said, “We wanted to organize the first foot in Cologne. It will be held in Berlin on Sunday evening, and we are here for that occasion.”

"We should avoid ending up like the Netherlands"

Minister Kılıç, reminding that Turkey currently goes through a public voting process, made the following statement:

"Our Constitutional amendment package was discussed in Turkish Assembly, and it is now presented to the approval of our nation. All stakeholders and political parties organize various programs about this. We will come together with Turkish citizens in Berlin tomorrow to address this issue. We will present our own opinions, and we have received a clear permission for this. I hope that the events which took place in the past few days, will not happen in the future. And Germany will probably not miss this opportunity for its democracy to ideally advance. We should avoid ending up like the Netherlands.”
