The Movie “Commitment Aslı” Screened in Sarajevo

The movie “Commitment Aslı”, written and directed by Semih Kaplanoğlu, was presented to cinema lovers in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Sarajevo, Sarajevo Yunus Emre Institute and Turkish Airlines, the movie “Commitment Aslı” was screened within the scope of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Republic.

Stating that there is a deep-rooted history of cinema in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that the movie, “Commitment Aslı” was shown for the first time in Sarajevo, “It is really exciting for me to show this movie here. In this difficult period that the world is going through, art is an important field as it always reminds us of being human. We will have the opportunity to talk about topics that will connect the audience to life a little in these difficult days,” Semih Kaplanoğlu said.

Stating that there are cultural similarities between Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kaplanoğlu made the following assessment: “It may be possible to prepare joint productions and films in cooperation between Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Young people need to think and work about what can be done within the framework of these possible collaborations.”

The Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Sarajevo, Sadık Babür Girgin, Sarajevo Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Mehmet Akif Yaman, representatives of Turkish institutions, movie lovers and guests attended the event.
