One Ton of Humanitarian Aid Collected in Lebanon for Earthquake Victims in Türkiye

In coordination with Embassies and Consulates, Yunus Emre Institute continues its efforts to collect and prepare aid in its foreign representative offices in different regions of the world to be shipped to Türkiye in order to support the earthquake victims.

In Lebanon, one ton of humanitarian aid material was collected to provide food and shelter for the earthquake victims in Türkiye following the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş, described as the "disaster of the century".

Under the leadership of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Beirut, with the support of the Beirut Yunus Emre Institute, the Beirut Office of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Turkish Airlines, the humanitarian aid material collected by Lebanese people for the earthquake victims in Türkiye will be shipped to Türkiye.

Turkish Ambassador to Beirut Ali Barış Ulusoy stated: "Although Lebanon has been in a serious economic and financial crisis since 2019, we see that both the Lebanese State and our friends and citizens living in Lebanon are making a serious effort to help."

Reminding that the Lebanese government has sent 3 search and rescue teams to Türkiye so far, Ulusoy noted: "We had the opportunity to send half a ton of humanitarian aid to Adana so far. Today, we are planning to deliver one ton of material such as blankets, heaters and food to our country, thanks to the cooperation of Turkish Airlines."

Ambassador Ulusoy expressed his gratitude to the Lebanese people for their solidarity.

BEIRUT YUNUS EMRE INSTITUTE TRAINEES PROVIDED SUPPORT

The trainees attending Turkish courses at the Beirut Yunus Emre Institute supported the aid campaign that was organized to help the earthquake victims in Türkiye to the best of their means.

Beirut Yunus Emre Institute Deputy Coordinator Duygu İtani stated that the Institute trainees and their relatives also provided financial support.

Deputy Coordinator İtani emphasized that in addition to the financial support, Beirut Yunus Emre Institute also collected clothes, blankets, heaters and food.
