Photography exhibition "Through Denktaş's Lens" organized by Nicosia Yunus Emre Enstitüsü on the occasion of TRNC Founding President Rauf Denktaş's 5^th death anniversary, opened in Bedesten.

Denktaş's family, Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, UBP Deputy Ersin Tatar, consultants in Turkish Embassy to Nicosia, bureaucrats and many guests attended the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of Nicosia Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Hüseyin Şahin pointed out that Rauf Raif Denktaş was a good photographer, poet and writer as well as being a statesman and lawyer. Şahin stated that Denktaş reflected his faith, his struggle and his determination also in his works.

Rauf Raif Denktaş's daughter Ender Denktaş Vangöl thanked Nicosia Yunus Emre Enstitüsü in her speech for organizing activities in schools on Denktaş's death anniversary, and expressed her gratitude to exhibition's organizer Nicosia Yunus Emre Enstitüsü.

Following the speeches, Şehit Tuncer Primary School student Hamza Yılmaz read a poem about the significance and meaning of the day. Later, Denktaş's performance of the poem titled “I Have Two Flags” was listened.
