Special Screening for the Film “Wheat Grain ” in Mexico
The last stop of the movie "Wheat Grain", which tells the struggling life story of Deputy Serkan Bayram, who lost his hands due to a fire in the wheat field, and his career journey to the Turkish Grand National Assembly, was Mexico.
In cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Mexico and the Mexico Yunus Emre Institute, and with the contributions of Turkish Airlines, the movie "Wheat Grain" was screened in Mexico.
Turkish Ambassador in Mexico İlhan Kemal Tuğ, Mexican Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Salih Gültekin, Turkish Airlines Mexico Manager Ertan Alpay, representatives of Turkish institutions in Mexico and many Mexican cinema lovers attended the event held at the Yunus Emre Institute. Mexico Deputy Serkan Bayram, whose life is the subject of the movie, was the guest of honor at the event.
Before the screening, Serkan Bayram met with the trainees learning Turkish at the Mexico Yunus Emre Institute and chatted with the trainees in Turkish.
Making his speech after the film screening, Mexican Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Salih Gültekin expressed his gratitude to Turkish Airlines for their contribution to the realization of the program and to the Turkish Embassy in Mexico for not leaving them alone on this meaningful night.
A gift reflecting the traditional art of Mexico from Turkish Ambassador in Mexico İlhan Kemal Tuğ to Serkan Bayram was presented. Sanem Arıkan, who attended the program on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, was also presented with a gift unique to Mexico.
Deputy Serkan Bayram stated that they had a great struggle beyond what was shown in the film and advised young people never to give up.
The event ended with taking a souvenir photo.
