Symposium on “Present and Future of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language” Organized

Yunus Emre Institute continues to organize scientific meetings and bring together experts in the field of teaching Turkish as a foreign language at home and abroad, to teach Turkish in different parts of the world in the light of international standards and scientific methods.

The "Symposium on Present and Future of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language" was organized in cooperation with Yunus Emre Institute, Turkish Language Society and Batman Municipality and hosted by Batman University.

Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Şeref Ateş attended the symposium held at Batman University Central Campus Conference Hall on November 7-9, 2022 online and delivered a speech.

"WE HAVE A STORY TO TELL THE WORLD"

In his speech, Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Şeref Ateş said: "We have a story to tell the world. In the coming century, we need to show what the Turkish nation can offer to humanity by promoting Turkish and Turkish culture both in our own heartland and in different regions of the world. Our language is one of the most important means of communication as a way of connecting with people. Therefore, we need to conduct language teaching with utmost care.”

In his speech, Turkish Language Society President Prof. Gürer Gülsevin stated that teaching Turkish to foreigners has become one of the most important fields of employment, especially with the contributions of activities carried out abroad by Yunus Emre Institute.

Batman University Rector Prof. İdris Demir commented: "We would like to express our gratitude to Yunus Emre Institute for organizing cultural and artistic activities to promote our country as well as teaching Turkish to foreigners through the Cultural Centers it has established abroad, while also providing support for scientific studies."
