“Talismanic Shirts of Sultans’’ Exhibition Opens in Sarajevo

In Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an exhibition titled "Talismanic Shirts of Sultans" was opened.

The exhibition opened in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) within the framework of the "Selam ya Resulallah" event, which is traditionally organized for the birthday of Muhammad according to the Hijri calendar, attracted great attention

10 EXHIBITIONS HAVE BEEN ORGANIZED SO FAR

Retired academician Mehmet Vanlıoğlu told that he had been working on this cultural work for 8 years and said, "This is our 10th exhibition. We are a team of 15. On a raw cloth, we replicate what the Ottoman sultans wore as an inner shirt in the war and bring them together with young people and the public."

Pointing out that there are also shirts designed by them, Vanlıoğlu said, "The shirts were important in terms of giving morale and motivation to the wearers with the verses and prayers on them."

Sarajevo Yunus Emre Institute Director Mehmet Akif Yaman reminded that the exhibition was organized in many places in Turkey and thanked the institutions that contributed to the exhibition

ORIGINALS ARE EXHIBITED AT TOPKAPI PALACE

.Adnan Muftarevic, an archaeologist from Sarajevo, stated that there were about 25 shirts in the exhibition and that the originals of the shirts were exhibited in Topkapı Palace.

The exhibition was hosted by Mehmet and Ayşe Vanlıoğlu, while Esra Kızılaya, Kamile Coşkun, Münire Yılmaz, Nur Yönder, Selda Kılıç, Samiye Soysal, Şenay Seyranlı, Vasfiye Sağlam, Yesegül Ünal, Zuhal Polat and Ferhat Karaş were the artists of the exhibition.

The exhibition, which opened at Brusa Bezistanı in the capital, can be visited until October 11.
