Teacher Candidates Received "Certificate of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language"

Certificates were granted to 32 teacher candidates who completed the training program organized by collaboration of IU Language Centre and Yunus Emre Enstitüsü.

32 teacher candidates who completed "Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language Certification Program" carried out by Istanbul University (IU) Language Centre and Yunus Emre Enstitüsü with the aim of teaching Turkish to foreigners both home and abroad, received their certificates.

Yunus Emre Enstitüsü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş who spoke at the certificate ceremony at the IU Language Centre, stated that they significantly contribute to cultural diplomacy by introducing Turkish language, culture and art abroad, and spoke as follows:

"Individuals trained in these programs work in our centres abroad and these programs are very beneficial with regard to communicating with foreign cultures and teaching Turkish to foreigners. We thought we could consolidate Turkey's power only through cooperation and speaking the same language also before July 15th."

Stating that IU and the university jointly apply tests abroad and there are collaborations also with academics, Ateş said, "We will be stronger as we mutually bridge the gaps. I hope we will open more centres. I would like to express that I will be pleased to see all participants as a member of Yunus Emre family.”

IU Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak also expressed his gladness with frequently held meetings and said, "Turkish is a preferred language in many parts of the world. Researches by  Yunus Emre Enstitüsü also show that. Turks are a nation who bear civilizations and we will also have the opportunity to follow the traces of this civilization with Turkish. We offer language instruction to those concerned in a wealth through programs as 'World Language Turkish' and 'Turkish on Roads' on this occasion.  I would like to stress that we are committed to continuing these efforts also in the future. I would hereby like to thank all who have contributed.”

After the speeches, Ateş and Ak presented the teacher candidates with certificates.
