Tehran Yunus Emre Institute Introduces Iranians to Turkish Breakfast
Tehran Yunus Emre Institute brought Iranians together with a wide variety of traditional Turkish breakfast tables.
Trainees learning Turkish and Turkish students continuing their education in Tehran attended the program held at the institute.
Tehran Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator İbrahim Furkan Özdemir said in his statement that breakfast has an important place in Turkish culture.
Coordinator Özdemir stated that, as Tehran Yunus Emre Institute, they organize various cultural and artistic events and that gastronomy has a very important place in cultural interaction.
Özdemir stated that they organized the "Traditional Turkish Cuisine Workshop" in May 2023, where the flavors of different regions were introduced within the framework of gastrodiplomacy activities, and that they had the opportunity to introduce Turkish breakfast to Iranians within the scope of the workshop.
Pointing out that traditions, eating and drinking habits form culture, “In Turkey, breakfast is not considered just a meal, it has become a whole culture. Today, we introduced the traditional Turkish breakfast to Iranians in order to increase the cultural interaction between Iran and Turkey," Özdemir said.
Mehmet Avşar, the owner of the Turkish restaurant Mehmet Steakhouse, which is among the most important restaurants in Tehran, expressed his pleasure to contribute to the promotion of Türkiye's culinary culture by taking part in the gastronomy event organized by Yunus Emre Institute.
Hatıra Yusufi, one of the institute trainees, said that she was pleased to be in the Turkish breakfast program.
Stating that he loves Turkish breakfast culture, Yusufi said, “We had a nice day at Yunus Emre Institute today. We attended a feast of taste. We had breakfast. Everything was perfect," he said.
