"Traditional Turkish Day" Activities in Lebanon

Beirut Yunus Emre Enstitüsü organized a "Traditional Turkish Day" event in Lebanon.

Turkish Ambassador to Beirut Ça?atay Erciyes, Director of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Cengiz Ero?lu, administrators, lecturers, students of Beirut Arabic University and Turks living here attended the event held at Beirut Arab University.

Ambassador Erciyes who made the opening speech of the event, thanked everyone who participated in this activity that introduced Turkey with all its aspects, art, culture, and tourist destinations.

Pointing out the historical and profound relationship between Turkey and Lebanon, Erciyes spoke as follows: "At the moment, one of every three Lebanese citizen has family or ethnic ties to Turkey. We must further strengthen the political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries. We desire Turkish universities to establish more collaborations with the universities here, and we encourage this. We would also like to invite all Lebanese citizens to Turkey. "

Home-made Turkish dishes, Turkish coffee, Turkish delights, desserts and Maraş ice cream were served to guests in the event.

In the event where Turkish music also played, the visitors showed a lot of interest in the stands where examples of marbling art were exhibited and rag doll making was demonstrated.

In the scope of the event, a photography exhibition was opened with the theme "Ottoman Decrees and Turkey" featuring numerous photographs from different cities of Turkey.

The exhibition was open to visit until May 5th.
