The Turkey Festival held with the support of Yunus Emre Institute in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, witnessed colorful scenes.

The Turkey Festival, held in Ueno Park on October 8-9, 2022, offered Japanese the opportunity to get to know Turkish culture.

The participants, who had the opportunity to try Turkish flavors at the food stands set up within the scope of the festival, also watched the traditional dance performances of Japanese dancers with interest.

 

JAPANESE DANCERS PERFORMED TURKISH FOLK DANCES

The participants, who had the opportunity to try Turkish flavors at the food stands set up within the scope of the festival, watched the Turkish folk dances of different regions performed by Japanese dancers with interest. 

Ikuyo Funahara, one of the dancers who performed at the festival, stated that they prepared a show consisting of traditional Turkish dances and said, "We are extremely happy that the folk dances of Turkey have attracted great interest from Japanese people."

"I CAME TO EAT TURKISH ICE CREAM" 

Stating that he came to the festival because he was curious about Turkish food and desserts, Aki Yukada said, "I came to eat Turkish ice cream. I will eat it for the first time. It is mentioned a lot on social media. That's where I heard about it and wondered."

Rika Okazaki stated that she had never tried any Turkish food before and that the festival was the first opportunity for her. Okazaki said, "I have seen a lot of Turkish ice cream on social media. My Turkish friend also mentioned it. That's why I wanted to try it. I am so excited."
