Cairo Yunus Emre Institute held an event called "Turkish Works in Egypt" as part of the conference series that included the common historical elements of Türkiye and Egypt.

At the event, Antiquities Expert Dr. Wala Eddin Badevi made a presentation about the prominent Turkish works in Cairo such as Sinan Pasha Mosque, Hadim Suleyman Pasha Mosque and similar, the features of Turkish architecture and the Turkish arts reflected in Turkish architecture.

Cairo Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Emin Boyraz, Institute trainees and guests attended the event.

Dr. Wala Eddin Badevi used the following expressions: “There are many Turkish works from the Mamluk period and the Ottoman period in Egypt and they still preserve their beauty. One of these works is the Suleyman Pasha Mosque, which was built in 1528 and is considered the first Ottoman mosque in Cairo. This mosque, which attracted attention from the Egyptian State due to its historical and artistic features, was newly opened after 5 years of restoration work. We can see the features of Ottoman architecture everywhere, from the minaret and dome shapes of the mosque to the Iznik tile art used inside the mosque." 

After the question-answer session, the event ended with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Antiquities Expert Dr. Wala Eddin Badevi by Institute Coordinator Emin Boyraz.
