Promoting Turkish Cuisine and Turkish Coffee in Podgorica

Yunus Emre Institute's Podgorica Branch has undertaken an event to promote the "Turkish Cuisine and Turkish Coffee" in cooperation with the Voli company and Centre Village Hotel.

The program held on April 23, 2019 at Centre Ville Hotel in Podgorica was attended by Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Podgorica Songül Ozan, Palestinian Ambassador Rabi Hantouli, Albanian Ambassador Ridi Kurtezi, Kosovar Ambassador Skender Durmishi as well as members of the diplomatic corps of the People's Republic of China, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Russian Federation, the officials from the Montenegrin government, deputies, press members and distinguished guests.

Delivering a keynote speech during the program, Ambassador Songül Ozan stressed the importance of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day for Turkey and the Turkish nation. She expressed satisfaction for being with distinguished guests at the program for promoting Turkish cuisine and Turkish coffee, which coincided with a meaningful day.

In his speech, Can Güray, the deputy director of Yunus Emre Institute's Podgorica Branch, congratulated the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day for all the children in the world, particularly including the children of Montenegro, and expressed thanks for Chef Ömür Akkor and Turkish Coffee Culture and Research Association Deputy President Osman Serim for attending the event in Podgorica.

Turkey's leading Turkish cuisine history researcher and renowned chef, Ömür Akkor, shared the cultural heritage and subtleties of Turkish cuisine.

The menu of Turkish dishes prepared by Akkor was offered to the guests and then, Turkish Coffee Culture and Research Association Deputy President Osman Serim made a presentation on the history of Turkish coffee for the guests. The program ended with the offering of Turkish coffee and Turkish delight.
