Turkish Film Week in Zagreb for Eighth Time

The 8th Turkish Film Week has been opened with the screening of "Av Mevsimi" (Hunting Season), directed by Yavuz Turgul in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.

The event held by Yunus Emre Institute in cooperation with Croatia-Turkey Friendship Association, was hosted by Cinema Europa in Zagreb. During the event which will run until May 26, the films "Buğday" (Grain), "Kalandar Soğuğu" (Cold of Kalandar), "Kardeşim Benim" (My Brother), "Bütün Saadetler Mümkündür" (All Happiness Is Possible), "Rüya" (Dream), "İftarlık Gazoz" (Soda Pop For Fast-Breaking), "Sofra Sırları" (Serial Cook), "Rafadan Tayfa Dehliz Macerası" (Rafadan Tayfa: Gallery Adventure) and "Ahlat Ağacı" (The Wild Pear Tree) will be screened for Croatian moviegoers. On Wednesday, May 22, Nermin Aytekin, the director of "Kalandar Soğuğu" (Cold of Kalandar), and screenwriter Suat Köçer will meet moviegoers.

The project implemented with support from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Cinema with the intention of promoting and strengthening the Turkish cinema sector provides the opportunity to promote Turkey's artistic and cultural heritage. As part of the project, around 100 Turkish films will be screened in 20 different cities around the world.
