International Women's Day Concert in Jordan

A concert by "Allegra Ensemble" has been the first event held in Jordan as part of Turkey-Jordan Culture Year.

During the opening ceremony of the concert held on March 9 at Al Hussein Cultural Center marking the International Women's Day, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Amman İsmail Aramaz and Jordanian Assembly Member Reem Badran delivered keynote speeches.

The concert by the ensemble consisting of Akden (flute), Şenzelita Aykanat (violin), Ümmiye Özdem (violin), Melda Sak (viola), Hande Ulutaş (violoncello), Irmak Tokgöz (percussion) and Gülriz Tunca (piano) was attended by Prince Asem bin Nayef and Princess Sana Asem, from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

With a repertoire of compositions from diverse genres including folk songs, tangos, and classical jazz from Turkey and around the world, the ensemble gave the audience a memorable night. The spectators accompanied the musicians as they sang Arabic songs.
