The "Traditional Turkish Archery" courses launched simultaneously in 16 countries under the Kemankeş (Archer) Project, implemented jointly by Yunus Emre Institute and the Archers' Foundation, attracted great deal of attention in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

While Yunus Emre Institute's Kuala Lumpur branch was offering courses on traditional Turkish archery with a view to promoting this traditional sport of Turks and raising new archers, the "Traditional Turkish Archery" was included in the curriculum as an elective course under the protocol signed between International Idrissi School and Yunus Emre Institute's branch in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday September 25.

The "Traditional Turkish Archery" course garnered intense attention following its inclusion in the curriculum. Six classes and more than 100 students elected the "Traditional Turkish Archery" course for the fall semester in the academic year of 2018-2019.

Local coaches who have been trained by the Archers' Foundation in Istanbul will teach theoretical and practical aspects of archery in the courses to be kicked off on Monday, October 1, 2018. Students will take the course at the classrooms specifically prepared for the Traditional Turkish Archery curriculum where they will have the opportunity to work with handmade archery materials and practice their shooting skills.

At the end of the semester, the successful students will be awarded certificates that are endorsed by the Archers' Foundation and they will be given the opportunity to attend the contests to be organized in our country.
