“100th Anniversary of the Republic Concert” Held in Serbia

Yunus Emre Institute continues to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye in the international arena through nearly 90 representatives in different continents of the world.

A special 100th anniversary concert was organized by Yunus Emre Institute in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.

At the concert hosted by Çukarica Municipal Center, the "Heritage Ensemble" group, consisting of students and graduates of Istanbul University State Conservatory, took the stage under the conductor of Istanbul University Faculty Member and Pianist Tutu Aydınoğlu.

The event was attended by many people attended, including Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye Hami Aksoy, Belgrade Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Dinser Şahin, foreign mission chiefs, representatives of Turkish institutions and organizations, music lovers and guests.

In his opening speech, stating that after the proclamation of the Republic, Turkish culture was reshaped in many areas, especially in the fields of literature and art, Belgrade Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Dinser Şahin said that the studies made about Turkish language were among the studies to which Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk attached special importance.

In the continuation of his speech, Coordinator Şahin underlined that Yunus Emre Institute carries out Turkish teaching activities at international standards in nearly 90 representative offices around the world. Şahin emphasized that hundreds of thousands of people have become acquainted with Türkiye's cultural heritage on the language-culture axis through Turkish teaching activities.

In the last part of his speech, Coordinator Şahin stated that peace and tranquility are necessary for a better world and included Yunus Emre's concise statements about the concepts of love and tolerance.

Turkish Ambassador in Belgrade Hami Aksoy expressed his gratitude to Belgrade Yunus Emre Institute for organizing such a special program on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic and stated that diplomatic relations between Türkiye  and Serbia are at a very good level.

Following the speeches, the concert in which distinguished works of Turkish music were performed by the "Heritage Ensemble" group was greatly appreciated by the guests.
