Arabic-Turkish Translation Workshop Held in Cairo

The "Arabic-Turkish Translation Workshop" organized by Cairo Yunus Emre Institute between December 11-14, 2022 with the participation of Prof. Mehmet Hakkı Suçin, Head of the Department of Arabic Language Teaching at Gazi University, attracted great interest from Egyptian youth learning Turkish.

Prof. Suçin, Head of the Department of Arabic Language Teaching at Gazi University, stated: " At the workshops I attend with the invitation of the Cairo Yunus Emre Institute, I try to help young Egyptians make successful translations in different themes from Arabic to Turkish and to develop their translation horizons."

Noting that Egyptians showed great interest in the translation workshop, Suçin said: "I am happy to be teaching a very interested and dynamic group of translators in Cairo. I believe such workshops bring aspiring Arabic-Turkish translators closer to a professional translation career, which means more quality translations in the future."

Sümeyye Osman, a trainee from YEI Cairo who participated in the workshop, said: "The business lives and careers of Turkish-speaking students start in the field of translation. Learning the techniques of translation is important to me as I want to pursue a career in journalism. I participated in the translation workshop at the Institute and it was really useful.”

DEVELOPMENT IN CULTURAL AND ACADEMIC COOPERATION BETWEEN TURKEY AND EGYPT

Speaking at the program organized as part of the translation workshop at Cairo Yunus Emre Institute, YEI Cairo Coordinator Emin Boyraz expressed their pleasure to see the rapid development of cultural and academic cooperation between Turkey and Egypt.

Stating that they have organized various career programs for Egyptian young people learning Turkish and that they organized the translation workshop in question especially for aspiring translators who aim to work in the field of Turkology, Boyraz said:

"We organize various career programs for young people learning Turkish in Egypt. We hold our translation workshops especially for aspiring academics and translators considering to work in the field of Turkology, who are increasing in number day by day. We hope that our event will benefit the careers of our young Egyptian brothers and sisters. We are also pleased to see the rapid development of cultural and academic cooperation between Turkey and Egypt."

STRENGTHENING TIES BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES

Having started its activities in Egypt in 2010, Cairo Yunus Emre Institute continues to strengthen the ties between the two countries through its cultural and artistic activities as well as Turkish language teaching.
