Azerbaijani Students Represent Yunus Emre Institute in Ankara at the 29 October Parade

With the support of Baku Yunus Emre Institute, Azerbaijani university and high school students represented Yunus Emre Institute by participating in the parade held in Ankara on the 100th anniversary of the Republic.

October 29 Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Türkiye and around the world, befitting the 100th anniversary.

In Ankara, the capital of Türkiye, where all four corners are covered in red and white, a parade was held from the front of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) to the 1st GNAT building in Ulus on the occasion of 29 October Republic Day.

October 29 Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Turkey and around the world, befitting the 100th anniversary.

Many institutions and organizations including by Yunus Emre Institute, Ministry of National Education, Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), Turkish Aeronautical Association participated the parade held under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.

A mini concert was held in the garden of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, where various anthems, especially the "Centenary March" and the "Independence March" were performed by the Mehter Band, the Turkish Armed Forces Mixed Band and the Azerbaijan Military Band.

After the concert, a moment of silence was observed to remember with gratitude the Founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and his beloved comrades-in-arms. In the march, which started after the National Anthem was sung, motorcycle teams and veterans took part in front of the cortege. In the cortege, posters with images of Atatürk were carried by the heroic Turkish soldier.

Representing Yunus Emre Institute, 18 Azerbaijani students, including students from Baku State University, Baku Eurasia University, Azerbaijan State and Industrial University, Azerbaijan Medical University and Azerbaijan French University, as well as high school students, took part in the cortege march with Turkish and Azerbaijani flags.

Baku Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Selçuk Karakılıç used the following expressions in his statement: “It is of great importance for the two countries to get to know each other's cultural heritage with all its riches. Yunus Emre Institute hosted Azerbaijani young people in Türkiye on the 100th anniversary of the Republic and allowed them to witness the turning point of Turkish history. Witnessing the enthusiasm of the Republic in Ankara will undoubtedly remain unforgettable moments in the memories of our students.”.

Students, many of whom came to Türkiye for the first time, stated that it was very special to be in Ankara on the 100th anniversary of the Republic and expressed that they were very happy to witness such a historical moment.
