Bosnia-Herzegovina Ministers of Education in Istanbul

As part of “My Preference Turkish” project carried out by Sarajevo Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, Bosnia-Herzegovina Ministers of Education came together with Turkish Minister of National Education Prof. Dr. Nabi Avci in Istanbul Sabancı Teacher’s Lodge at a breakfast event.

6120 primary and secondary level students in 120 schools in 7 cantons learn Turkish as part of “My Preference Turkish” project carried out in Bosnia-Herzegovina since the 2011-2012 school year.

Yunus Emre Enstitüsü continues to host Bosnia-Herzegovina Ministers of Education and school principals in 4 groups for 5 days in culture capital Istanbul as part of “My Preference Turkish” project which aims to reinforce and improve the bridges between hearts in the two countries by way of Turkish language.

Arrived in Istanbul on 28 November 2015 Saturday, Bosnia-Herzegovina committee comprised of Bosnia-Herzegovina Federation Minister of Education Elvira Dilberovi?, Bosnia Podrinje Canton Minister of Education Damir ?uga, Herzegovina Neretva Canton Minister of Education Rašid Had?ovi?, Zenica Doboj Canton Minister of Education Mensur Sinanovi?, and Sarajevo Canton Minister of Education Elvir Kazazovi? and Yunus Emre Enstitüsü officials were hosted by Minister of National Education Prof. Dr. Nabi Avcı in the breakfast event held in Sabancı Teacher’s Lodge.

In the event Director of Sarajevo Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Mehmet Akif Yaman made a presentation on Elective Turkish course carried out in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Minister of Education Dilberoviç expressed their gratitude for visiting Istanbul on behalf of Bosnia-Herzegovina committee.

Minister of National Education Prof. Dr. Nabi Avcı said in his speech that they are glad to be hosting Bosnia-Herzegovina education ministers in Turkey and stated that Yunus Emre Enstitüsü organizes impressive activities aimed at Turkish instruction and culture and arts in Bosnia-Herzegovina as in the other regions of the world. Ministers of both countries expressed their opinions on organizing Turkish language courses in more primary and secondary schools in Bosnia-Herzegovina as part of the good-will protocol signed.

Bosnia-Herzegovina committee will discover the historical and cultural fabric of Istanbul and get the chance to be informed on Turkish education system on site with school visits for five days in the program organized with contributions from Istanbul Directorate of National Education.
