Certificate Ceremony in Pakistan

The Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye and Yunus Emre Institute in Pakistan jointly organized a certificate ceremony for participants of the Turkish language course and children who attended the winter camp.

The ceremony, hosted at Allama Iqbal Open University in Islamabad, Pakistan, was attended by distinguished guests, including Mehmet Toyran, Education Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Islamabad, Halil Toker, Coordinator of Yunus Emre Institute in Pakistan, Muhsin Balcı, Coordinator of TİKA in Islamabad, Ergest Limka, Head of the Turkish Red Crescent Delegation in Pakistan, Prof. Nasir Mahmut, Rector of Allama Iqbal Open University, and lecturer Raşit Çolak, PhD, who instructs Turkish at the university.   

In his address at the ceremony, Mehmet Toyran, Education Counselor at the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad, quoted the renowned poet Yahya Kemal Beyatlı, the first Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan to underscore the significance of mutual language learning between the two countries.

Turkish Language Courses Attract Hundreds in Pakistan

Education Counselor Toyran highlighted that upon assuming office, Turkish language lessons were offered in just one university in Islamabad. He noted a remarkable growth, with over 400 students commencing Turkish language learning solely in the year 2023.

“Language serves as the gateway to culture”

Highlighting the considerable number of Turkish speakers in Pakistan, Toyran remarked, “Language serves as the gateway to culture. With the acquisition of the language, the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries are significantly strengthening.”

Lecturer Raşit Çolak, PhD, who teaches Turkish at the university, remarked, “Good things happen when good people come together.” He extended his gratitude to the students who achieved remarkable success in a short period of time and acknowledged everyone who contributed to the endeavor.
