“The Cultural Road” of the National Capital Passes through Yunus Emre Institute

Yunus Emre Institute was among the institutions that hosted “The Başkent Culture Road Festival” held within the scope of the Türkiye Culture Road Festivals organized by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

 

Within the scope of the festival, the exhibition titled “Cumhuriyetle Büyüyen Türkiye” (Türkiye Growing with the Republic), which includes Painter Professor Abbas Ketizmen’s works prepared with the technique of illustration on important events that left their mark on Turkish history from the foundation of the Republic to its 100th anniversary, is presented to the appreciation of art lovers and history enthusiasts in the historical building of the Institute in Ulus.

 

A series of events, including exhibitions and musical concerts, were organized in the program titled “Türkiye Growing with the Republic”, held by the Institute on September 22nd, 2023. Yunus Emre Institute President Professor Şeref Ateş art lovers, guests and press members attended the event.

 

Following the opening of the “Türkiye Growing with the Republic” exhibition, a special selection of Turkish music works from the Republican Era was performed and guests were treated to an unforgettable musical feast.

 

100 Years of History of the Republic Illustrated

 

“As Yunus Emre Institute, we have fulfilled our debt of loyalty to our Republic with a small contribution. In our exhibition ‘Türkiye Growing with the Republic’, we depicted the last 100 years of our Republic history, which is an important part of Turkish history, and highlighted it with concepts. This exhibition is very valuable, especially for our youth and children,” Institute President Professor Şeref Ateş said.

 

We Introduce Türkiye’s Rich Cultural Heritage to The World”

 

President Professor Şeref Ateş said made the following evaluations: “On the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye, we continue to knit the whole world with cultural networks in a way befitting the Republic. We are currently introducing Türkiye’s rich cultural heritage to the world with more than 80 foreign representatives in more than 60 countries.”

 

The Türkiye Growing with the Republic Exhibition

 

In the “Türkiye Growing with the Republic” exhibition, the national struggle on 6 major fronts from the last period of the Ottoman Empire to the War of Independence and the events that left their mark on Turkish history were depicted in chronological order, especially the illustration prepared specifically for Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Founder of the Republic of Türkiye”

 

Painter Professor Abbas Ketizmen

 

Painter Professor Abbas Ketizmen produced more than 2,000 designs and artworks throughout his 45-year artistic life and 27-year academic career. Painter Ketizmen won many awards and organized exhibitions throughout his artistic life. He became the only painter from Türkiye with 3 of his paintings among 39 artists in the art album “Reading Cengiz Aytmatov” prepared within the scope of “2018 Cengiz Aytmatov Year”.

 

The Başkent Culture Road Festival

 

The Başkent Culture Road Festival, which was implemented by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism in order to highlight the cultural richness of Ankara in the international arena, will host concerts, exhibitions, theater, opera and ballet, hosted by the historical and cultural venues of Ankara between September 16th - October 1st 2023. Many art lovers will be brought together with more than 700 events ranging from shows, talks to workshops.
