Handicrafts Exhibition and Certificate Ceremony in Mostar

Yunus Emre Enstitüsü and Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality signed a cooperation protocol in 2016, and organize vocational and art courses for Bosnia-Herzegovina citizens.

Thanks to Turkish trainers assigned by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality for three monthly periods, Bosnia-Herzegovina citizens get the opportunity to learn Turkish art and culture. During October-December 2016 period, around 200 students participated in the courses, and nearly 5,000 courses were held in needlework, wood decoration, calligraphy, felt making branches.

In February and March of 2017, 180 trainees produced 600 works in needlework, paper filigree and felt making courses that lasted for 2 months, organized by collaboration of Mostar Islamic Assembly Active Women's Unit, Los Rosales School for the Handicapped and Sunce Foundation for the Visually Impaired. Handmade products were presented to the taste of visitors in the exhibition opened on March 30th, 2017.

After opening speeches by Mostar Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Director Yunus Dilber, KAYMEK Mostar Coordinator Billur Dilber, Head Imam of Mostar Islamic Parliament Suljo Cikotic and Los Rosales School Principle Mirna Mezit, certificates were presented to trainees.

The trainees who expressed that they greatly enjoyed the courses said they would like to participate in the Turkish Cuisine, Marbling and Philography courses to commence in May.

Trainee Jasmina Fazlagic expressed her feelings as follows:

"I completed four courses. I am 74 years old. I joined these courses to learn what I did not get the chance to learn in my youth. I was successful despite my old age. I made this work on my neck, and I have many works like this. I would like to thank Turkey and the team that were together and worked with us on this project. I participate in the needlework course for this period, and in the last period, I participated in the wood decoration course. "

The exhibition featuring 180 works, was open to visit until April 7th.
