A talk on "The Place and Importance of Lodges in Turkish Culture" was held in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo.
The talk, organized by Hasan University of Pristina, Faculty of Philology, Department of Turkish Language and Literature, in cooperation with the Human Rights and Freedoms (IHH) Humanitarian Relief Foundation and Yunus Emre Institute (YEI), was held on February 22nd, 2024, in the conference hall of Pristina YEI.
Cultural Presence of Turks in Rumelia and the Balkans
Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Faculty Member YEI Kosovo Coordinator Professor Ramazan Yılmaz and Turkish Maarif Foundation Kosovo Representative Mehmet Nedim Aslan as well as many guests attended the conversation in which Ahmet Taşğın was the speaker.
In the interview, the philosophical, intellectual and conceptual background of the Turks living in Rumelia and the Balkans until today and how they approach different religions, sects and races were discussed.
The thought, philosophy and its socio-cultural equivalent that Sarı Saltuk, known as a dervish in the Balkans, brought to this geography and presented to the whole world's humanity by their presence around the lodge were also discussed in the interview.
