Traditional Turkish Arts Exhibition Opens in London

"The Noble: Traditional Turkish Arts Exhibition" was opened with the cooperation of London Yunus Emre Institute and Traditional Turkish Arts (TTA) Platform.

In the exhibition held at London Yunus Emre Institute on November 28, 2022, nearly 70 works by 11 artists were presented to art lovers.

The exhibition, which was organized to support the masters and talented artists in traditional Turkish arts as well as to raise interest in Turkish art in the UK, showcased works of calligraphy, marbling, illumination, miniature, ceramic and batik arts.

SPECTACULAR WORKS OF TURKISH ART WERE EXHIBITED

The exhibition featured the unique works of Ahmet Sacit Açıkgözoğlu, Berna Vahapoğlu, Elif Yurdakul, Emsele Bal, Gulnaz Fatima Mahboob, Gülcan Acar, Mürvet Bilgin, Nagihan Seymour, Nimet Koç, Sema Yekeler Yurtseven and Songül Ergün.

London Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Dr. Mehmet Karakuş and TTA Platform Founder Dilara Karaağaç made speeches at the opening of the exhibition.

"ART IS IMPORTANT AS IT SYMBOLIZES THE CULTURAL ACHIEVEMENTS OF A SOCIETY"

In his speech at the opening of the exhibition, London Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Dr. Karakuş emphasized the importance of art as a symbol of a society's cultural achievements and as an expression of its social values.

Karakuş further emphasized the significance of traditional Turkish-Islamic arts in terms of artists discovering the secrets of the world, expressing the beauties of the absolute truth and carrying cultural richness from the past to the present.

THE GOAL IS TO BRING TURKISH ARTS TOGETHER WITH ART LOVERS

The Founder of the TTA Platform, Dilara Karaağaç, stated that she decided to establish this platform out of a desire to introduce the rich history of traditional Turkish arts to a wider audience.

Karaağaç expressed her pleasure that the exhibition, which was first organized online in 2020 in order to bring Turkish arts together with art lovers, followed by the exhibition opened today at London Yunus Emre Institute, met with art lovers in London, the Capital of the UK.

The Traditional Turkish Arts Exhibition will be open to visitors at London Yunus Emre Institute until December 21, 2022.
