An event called “Türkiye Days” was organized in cooperation with Buenos Aires Yunus Emre Institute and Austral University, one of Argentina’s prestigious universities.

The program, hosted by Austral University in Pilar, Argentina, on September 19th, 2023, included a series of events including conferences, exhibitions, gastronomy workshops and music concerts.

Students from Austral University’s Department of International Relations attended the conference titled “Global Geopolitics and Foreign Policy”, where Turkish Ambassador in Buenos Aires, Süleyman Ömür Budak was the speaker. After the conference, Ambassador Budak answered the students’ questions about the strategies determined by Türkiye in foreign policy.

At the Turkish Culture Exhibition, visuals containing cultural elements of Türkiye, especially Turkish history, art, architecture and food culture were exhibited.

During the continuation of the event, the music group, including Turkish and Argentinian artists, performed Anatolian melodies. In the concert, which attracted intense attention, important works of Turkish poets, especially Aşık Veysel, were presented to university students.

They were Amazed by the Taste of Turkish Coffee

In the gastronomy workshop, Turkish coffee, which is among the indispensable parts of Turkish gastronomy with its unique cooking technique and presentation, was introduced. Turkish coffee was served to the students in the workshop after the preparation was shown. Argentinian students stated that they were amazed by the taste of Turkish coffee and that they would prepare Turkish coffee for themselves and their relatives at home with the knowledge they gained in the workshop.

Regarding the Türkiye Days event, Buenos Aires Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Aydın Bayat used the following statements: “With the desire to strengthen the cultural bridges between Türkiye and Argentina, we continue to organize activities to promote Türkiye’s cultural qualities on a wide basis in Argentina. As a result of following Turkish TV series with interest in Argentina, there is intense interest in Turkish culture and Turkish. In the activities we carry out, we aim to both offer Argentinians the opportunity to experience the elements of Turkish culture they are familiar with and to highlight Türkiye's tourism potential by introducing other cultural components of Türkiye.”
