Yunus Emre Institute continues to increase the admiration for Turkish culture all over the world day by day through its nearly 90 representatives abroad.

Rwandans get to know the rich cultural heritage of Türkiye, the cradle of civilizations, and the Turkish language through special cultural interaction activities organized by the Institute. Many students from all departments, especially the Faculty of Economics, attend the Turkish courses and cultural events organized by the institute.

Kigali Yunus Emre Institute's representation office has become a center of attraction for Rwandans with the activities it initiated within the University of Rwanda, one of the country's leading and respected universities.

The inclusion of Türkiye's magnificent landscapes, world-famous cuisine, memorable music and magnificent architectural structures in Turkish TV series encourages Rwandan young people to learn Turkish.

Obed Kwizera, who attended the Institute's Turkish courses made his assessment: “I started to get to know Türkiye through Turkish TV series. I follow many Turkish TV series with pleasure. Thanks to Kigali Yunus Emre Institute, I get to know Turkish culture more closely. I had the opportunity to experience Turkish coffee, which I often see in Turkish TV series, for the first time at an event organized by the Institute. My biggest dream is to visit different cities of Türkiye and drink Turkish coffee, which has been remembered for forty years."

“I attended the Institute's courses because I wanted to watch Turkish TV series in Turkish. Our lessons are very enjoyable. I started learning and speaking Turkish in a short time in Turkish courses. In addition to learning Turkish, we also get to know Turkish culture closely through various activities prepared by our instructor in each lesson," another trainee, Salwa Uwasabind said.

“Like most people, I attended Turkish courses under the influence of Turkish TV series. Over time, my curiosity for Türkiye and Turkish culture increased with both Turkish courses and cultural events. I want to learn Turkish well and go to Türkiye,” Trainee Taka Hubert said.

“I attended Turkish courses to gain information about the Turkish business world. Learning Turkish will be an important step in my career,” Patrick, a student at the Department of Economics at the University of Rwanda said.

Kigali Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Enes Karaçoban made the following assessment: “The significant impact of Turkish TV series in Rwanda and the fact that investors from Turkey do business in Rwanda are among the reasons why our Rwandan trainees learn Turkish. In our activities, we aim for our trainees to experience the cultural elements they have learned from the TV series they follow, through both gastronomy and artistic activities."

Kigali Yunus Emre Institute continues to build permanent bridges of love in Rwanda with various activities it organizes.
