“Türkiye in 100 Years and Future Vision” Discussed in Indonesia

A seminar titled "Türkiye in 100 Years and Future Vision" was organized by Yunus Emre Institute in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.

Many people attended, including by senior officials of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Jakarta Talip Küçükcan, National Defense University of the Republic of Türkiye Rector Professor Erhan Afyoncu, Jakarta Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Dr. Cemal Şahin and and representatives of local institutions attended the event hosted by the institute

Relations between Türkiye and Indonesia from Past to Present Explained

Touching upon the relations between Türkiye and Indonesia from past to present in his speech,  "Relations between Turkey and Indonesia started in the 1530s and over time they became stronger with the aid and cooperation in many areas," National Defense University Rector Professor Erhan Afyoncu said.

Noting that Türkiye sent aid to Indonesia 400 years ago and that most of this aid consisted of military aid Rector Professor Afyoncu made the following evaluations: "The export of unmanned aerial vehicles by Türkiye to Indonesia is an important opportunity to revitalize the historical relations of the two countries." 

Captain Kevin Armando Siagian, who attended the Turkish courses of Jakarta Yunus Emre Institute, took the floor at the seminar and stated that the success achieved by Türkiye in the defense industry should be transferred to Indonesia. Captain Siagian added that Türkiye's success in the defense industry is among the reasons for learning Turkish.

Colonel Tommy Anderson from the Indonesian Ministry of Defense stated that he discovered Turkish culture and Turkish through the Jakarta Yunus Emre Institute and expressed his gratitude to the Institute for the cultural interaction activities it organized in Indonesia.

Jakarta Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Dr. Cemal Şahin underlined that the relations between Türkiye and Indonesia have become stronger in recent years and stated that, as Yunus Emre Institute, they will continue their activities to strengthen the cultural relations between the two countries.

The event ended after the guests were served delicacies from Turkish cuisine
