10th Anniversary of Beirut Yunus Emre Institute  Celebrated

The 10th anniversary of the establishment of Beirut Yunus Emre Institute in Lebanon was celebrated with an event.

Turkey’s Ambassador to Beirut Ali Barış Ulusoy, Lebanon Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator İbrahim Furkan Özdemir, and teachers working at the institute and graduates attended the event organized for the anniversary of the establishment of Yunus Emre Institute, which started its activities in Beirut 10 years ago on March 22, 2012, and taught Turkish to thousands of people.

‘’WE ARE RE-ESTABLISHING AND STRENGTHENING THE TIES WE LOST 100 YEARS AGO’’

Making a speech on the occasion of the event on March 22, 2022, Özdemir said, ‘’We are trying to mutually re-establish and strengthen our historical ties that we lost 100 years ago, together with the Lebanese people.’’

Underlining that it is crucial to re-strengthen the cultural and historical ties between Turkey and Lebanon, Özdemir said, ‘’As Yunus Emre Institute, we wish our activities such as Turkish teaching, culture, and art, to continue increasingly today, as yesterday.

Stating that they will make all their efforts to promote Turkey’s history, art, and culture in line with the mission of Yunus Emre Institute, Özdemir thanked Turkey’s Ambassador to Beirut and all its staff for their contribution to the provision of this environment.

YUNUS EMRE INSTITUTE SPREADS ANATOLIAN CULTURE AND TURKISH LANGUAGE TO THE WORLD

Turkey’s Ambassador to Beirut Ulusoy also stated that Yunus Emre Institute’s 64 cultural centers established in 54 countries contributed to the promotion of Turkey’s history, culture, and art and the consolidation of friendship and cultural ties between Turkey and other countries.

Ulusoy said that Yunus Emre Institute has become an important center for the spread of the Turkish language to the world, as well as the ancient Anatolian culture, which has hosted many civilizations.

Ambassador Ulusoy congratulated all the employees of the Institute for their activities in the world, such as teaching Turkish, cultural promotion, and other activities, and wished them success.
