April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm in Austria

An event was organized in Vienna, the capital of Austria, on the occasion of "April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day" with the initiatives of Türkiye's Consulate General in Vienna and Vienna Yunus Emre Institute.

Türkiye's Ambassador to Vienna Ozan Ceyhun, Türkiye's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Vienna Office Ambassador Levent Eler, Vienna Consul General Cafer Mert Özmert and Vienna Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Ayşe Yorulmaz as well ass many guests attended to the event organized with the contributions of Turkish associations in Vienna.

Consul General Cafer Mert Özmert made the opening speech at the event, which started with the reading of the National Anthem and a moment of silence.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Ozan Ceyhun stated that April 23 is the 104th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, which is the guarantee of national will.

Ceyhun emphasized that this important event was a turning point at the beginning of the War of Independence under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

"As you know, our War of Independence instilled inspiration in the hearts of the oppressed nations of the time, costing the whole world," Ceyhun said. "With this motto, the Great Leader Atatürk gifted this important day to all the children of the world. That is why April 23 is the symbol of the trust and belief we have in our hearts for our children," he said.

At the event where children performed various shows, the shows of artists Ümit Kaplan and Erkan Obüs were watched with great interest.
