A concert has been given to mark the 250th birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven, one of the most important composers of music history, under the sponsorship of Berlin Yunus Emre Institute.

Held at the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic on February 22, the concert showcased the composer many less known pieces played by five successful pianists from Turkey.

The concert was entitled "Jenseits der Sonaten" (Beyond Sonatas) as Turkey's esteemed pianos virtuosos  Muhiddin Dürrüoğlu, Emre Elivar, Salih Can Gevrek, Kandemir Basmacıoğlu and Yunus Tuncalı interpreted Beethoven's touching sonatas.

The concert was attended by some 500 people including Consul General of the Republic of Turkey to Berlin Mr. Rıfkı Olgun Yücekök.
