The "Diversity in Unity:  Intercultural Dialogue Through the Waves of Danube" project, which seeks to boost cultural interaction between the countries flanking the Danube and Turkey as part of the Yunus Emre Institute-led EU-Turkey Intercultural Dialogue Programme, has attended the 64th International Belgrade Book Fair as part of its Serbia program. 

During an interview held on Monday, October 21 at the book fair, Nermin Mollaoğlu and Turkish-Serbian translator Vesna Gazdić talked about literary translation.

In another event held on Tuesday, writer Nermin Yıldırım, from Turkey, became the guest of a program conducted by Dragana Kovaceviç. Yıldırım described her writing adventure and writing process, giving information on her novels.

During the event which also contained work on mutual work in the field of literature, new agreements were signed for the translation of more Turkish works into Serbian in parallel to the increased interest in Turkish literature in Serbia.

The book fair, themed as "Letter Equals Thought," housed 500 publisher booths from 19 countries in Belgrade. In what is considered to be Balkans' most important professional book fair, literature lovers, publishers, translators and publication professionals will meet visitors until October 27, 2019.

The next destination of "Diversity in Unity: Intercultural Dialogue Through the Waves of Danube," a project implemented under the leadership of the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Istanbul and jointly by the Turkey-European Foundation and Kalem Association, will be the Budapest Book Fair in 2020.
