The English translation of the book "Memoirs of an Ottoman Prince" was launched in the event held at London Yunus Emre Enstitüsü.

Th launch event for English translation of the book "Memoirs of a Prince / What I Witnessed and Heard at Homeland and on Exile", prepared for publication by Osman Selahaddin Osmanoğlu, the son of Ottoman Prince Ali Vasıb Efendi who was one of the members of the Ottoman dynasty on exile, was held at London Yunus Emre Enstitüsü.

In the event attended by Turkish Ambassador to London Abdurrahman Bilgiç, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş, translator John Dyson, Osman Selahaddin Osmanoğlu and some family members, Osmanoğlu signed Turkish and English books for the guests.

The first edition of the book published in Turkish in 2004, features Ali Vasıb Efendi's memories from his childhood to 1950.

Born in Istanbul in 1903, Ali Vasıb Efendi was the son of Sultan V. Murad's grandson. Ali Vasıb Efendi who left Turkey in 1924 with the dissolution of sultanate, lived in France and Egypt, and returned to Turkey in 1974 after Ottoman princesses were allowed to return home. Ali Vasıb Efendi, who became the patriarch of the Ottoman dynasty in 1977, was deceased in Egypt in 1983.

Translated into English and redacted in nearly 7 years, the book was published by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
