The Last Turkish Proficiency Test of 2016 Held

The last Turkish Proficiency Test (TPT) organised by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, was held on September 3rd Saturday in 21 countries.

Held three times a year by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, the last Turkish Proficiency Test (TPT) of 2016 was held on September 3rd Saturday, in Turkey and 21 countries.

Candidates who passed Turkish Proficiency Test held simultaneously in various regions received “Turkish Proficiency Certificates”. Those with Turkish Proficiency Certificates will be exempt from Turkish language preparation class when and if they are qualified to study in any Turkish university. Turkish Proficiency Test provides all candidates with a major advantage also in job applications.

 

HELD IN TWO SESSIONS

Turkish Proficiency Test was held in two sessions. Candidates answered reading, listening and writing questions in the first session, and speaking and conversation questions in the second session. Test time for candidates for the first session was 165 minutes, 60 minutes for “reading”, 45 for “listening”, and 60 for “writing”. The total time for second session was 15 minutes 5 for “independent speaking” and 10 for “conversation”.

 

AIM OF THE TEST

TPT is a test developed by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü to test language proficiency of individuals who learn Turkish as a foreign language in compliance with proficiency definitions specified in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Yunus Emre Enstitüsü began to apply these tests internationally and aims for Turkish to attain a standard test that is internationally valid and supporting Turkey's policies regarding facilitating the enrolment of foreign students.

Turkish Proficiency Test is significant in terms of making Turkish universities a focus of interest for foreign students, facilitating enrolment of foreign students in universities and assessment of Turkish levels by correct criteria.
