In Memory of Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin

A conference entitled "Contribution of Muslim Scholars to Scientific and Technological Developments" has been organized in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

In the conference organized as a homage to the contributions to the cultural and scientific world of Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin, who was known for his work on history of Islam, science and technology and who passed away last year, emphasis was made on the importance of transferring Sezgin's work to young generations.

The conference also touched on how the Islamic civilization contributed to the establishment of the world history, and continued with the presentations on Muslim scientists' contributions to scientific and technological advancements.

The opening ceremony of the conference organized by Yunus Emre Institute's Baku Branch, the Theology Institute of Azerbaijan, Kırıkkale University and Prof. Dr. Sezgin Islamic Science History Research Foundation was attended by academic and executives from the institutions.

Following the conference, the Theology Institute of Azerbaijan, Prof. Dr. Sezgin Islamic Science History Research Foundation and Ahi Evran University signed a cooperation protocol.
