Minister Avcı visited Baku Yunus Emre Enstitüsü

Minister of Culture and Tourism Prof. Dr. Nabi Avcı visited Baku Yunus Emre Enstitüsü on September 27th 2016, Tuesday as part of official Azerbaijan visits.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Prof. Dr. Nabi Avcı visited Baku as part of official visits in Azerbaijan and also Baku Yunus Emre Enstitüsü. Minister of Culture and Tourism Avcı visited new Enstitü building, and was briefed by Baku Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Director İbrahim Yıldırım. İbrahim Yıldırım made a presentation on previous activities and activities planned to be organised in 2017 to Minister Avcı and accompanying delegation.

Nabi Avcı signed Baku Yunus Emre Enstitüsü memorial book and talked to students who learn Turkish in Enstitü.

Expressing his appreciation for Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, Minister Avcı wished success to Enstitü management and personnel.

 

AVCI, MET WITH HIS COUNTERPART ABULFAS GARAYEV

Minister of Culture and Tourism Nabi Avcı spoke as follows: "Azerbaijani literature is not as popular in Turkey as it deserves to be and the same applies for Turkish literature in Azerbaijan. We must get mobilized to mutually introduce our writers to both our people and particularly to the youth.”

Minister Avcı met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Abulfas Garayev as part of official visits.

Garayev who made a speech at the meeting held in the Ministry, stated that they have a close collaboration with Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and carry out joint projects.

Reminding that there are numerous Turkish managers in tourism in Azerbaijan, Garayev expressed that they greatly contribute in development of tourism in Azerbaijan.

Garayev marking that Azerbaijani experts contribute in Turkey in fields of culture, arts, music and literature, continued as follows: “I propose to realise joint cultural tourism programs. Tourism plays a major role in communicating culture.”

Avcı, expressing his gladness on visiting Azerbaijan, said that the visit was brief yet fruitful.

Avcı addressing the cooperation between libraries and mutual promotion of books from the two countries, stated that they will send the books published by the ministry to Azerbaijan National Library.

 

AVCI GATHERED WITH AZERBAIJANI WRITERS

Minister Avcı gathered with members of Azerbaijani Writers' Union.

The meeting held in Azerbaijan National Library was attended by Avcı as well as Azerbaijan Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Vagif Aliyev, Library Director KerimTahirov, parliament members and writers.

Avcı made a speech in the meeting, and reminded that during the Soviet Union period a separation occurred and the cultural ties between the two countries were halted in large part but never severed.

Avcı, expressed that they always keep in mind that Turkey and Azerbaijan are one nation and they survive this through literature. Avcı continued as follows:

“Azerbaijani literature is not as popular in Turkey as it deserves to be and the same applies for Turkish literature in Azerbaijan. We must get mobilized to mutually introduce our writers to both our people and particularly to the youth.

“I hope that we will overcome the disconnection in the coming terms and both our children will have closely followed other nation's writers. We must feature activities in other branches of art in order to get reacquainted.”

Minister Avcı visited historic Inner City in Baku as part of official visits.

Avcı prayed at Seyit Yahya Shirvani's mausoleum in Palace of Shirvanshahs at Inner City.
