Newroz Concert from Tehran Yunus Emre Institute Children's Choir

In Iran, Tehran Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) Children's Choir gave a concert on March 14th, 2024, on the occasion of Newroz Holiday.

YEI Children's Choir offered a musical feast to the audience with songs in Turkish, Persian, English, Spanish and Italian in its concert.

Tehran YEI Coordinator İbrahim Furkan Özdemir stated in his statement that they continue the cultural activities that bring the two countries closer together without interruption.

Stating that they also engage in different cultural and artistic activities in addition to teaching Turkish, "Our students, who have been participating in our music courses for many years, performed the Newroz concert in this hall of the Economic Cooperation Organization Cultural Institute. They sang pieces in Turkish, Persian, Spanish and English. We thank them." Özdemir said,

Stating that the Newroz Feast, which is considered the beginning of the new year, will be celebrated on March 20 this year according to the Hijri Shamsi calendar in Iran, and said, "We have gathered here today on the occasion of the Newroz Feast, the herald of abundance and spring. I congratulate everyone on the Newroz Feast and Ramadan. Better I hope it will be a more prosperous, happy and peaceful year." Özdemir said.

Zühre Abdoli, music teacher at Tehran YEI, stated that the Children's Choir was established about 6-7 years ago and that the choir continues to grow as the number of children increases and they start to know YEI.

Abdoli said that they started singing pieces in different languages to attract the attention of the children and used the following expressions: "In today's performance, the children sang pieces in Turkish, Persian, Spanish, Italian and English. I am very pleased, the children have supported each other from the beginning until today."

Abdoli stated that beginner students have the opportunity to learn faster and develop friendships by working with advanced students.

Pointing out that it is important to work together in the choir, Abdoli said that they were pleased to find harmony in the choir in a short time.
