Referred as “Itri of our time”, a prominent master in classical Turkish music, Ahmet Hatipoğlu passed away at the hospital where he had been receiving treatment for some time. The artist made unmatched contributions to meet classical Turkish music with Turkish poetry, mainly with poetry of Ahmet Yesevi, and promote our music to the world.

Hatipoğlu enriched Classical Turkish and Sufi music with his unique performing style and reached large masses. Hatipoğlu was awarded 2012 Presidency Culture and Arts Grand Prize for his achievements in music.
