"From Semai to Waltz"

A classical music concert titled "From Semai to Waltz" has been given in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands.

Organized by Yunus Emre Institute's Amsterdam branch, the concert showcased classical tunes performed using both Eastern and Western instruments.

Chargé d'Affaires of Turkish Embassy in The Hague Alper Yüksel, Amsterdam Consul General Tolga Orkun and mostly Dutch music lovers attended the concert.

The concert was given by reed flute player Sinan Arat and baritone Sinan Vural, and conducted by Turkish symphonic music composer and pianist Meliha Doğuyal, and it was received enthusiastically by the audience.

In the concert that fused classical Ottoman/Turkish music with classical Western music, works of Mozart, İsmail Dede Efendi, Zekai Dede Efendi, Beethoven and Johann Sebastian Bach were performed.
