Traditional Breads of Anatolian Cuisine Took Part in the "Bread Festival" Held in Bucharest

Bucharest Yunus Emre Institute represented Türkiye by participating in the “Bread Festival” organized by the Diaspora Department of Prime Ministry of Romania at the Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum.

At the “Türkiye” stand of Bucharest Yunus Emre Institute, approximately 110 kilograms of assorted Turkish breads, made from different ingredients and made with different baking techniques in various parts of Anatolia was served to the visitors by the ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Bucharest, Özgür Kıvanç Altan, Romanian Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Mustafa Yıldız and the owner of the Pantep Bakeries (Pantep Fırınları) Ali Kök.

The stand of Bucharest Yunus Emre Institute, which took part in the festival attended by many countries with the slogan “We share our bread”, attracted great attention. At the festival, where a variety of delicious breads were offered, the breads at the Türkiye stand sold out within an hour.

The Ambassador of Republic of Türkiye in Bucharest, Özgür Kıvanç Altan gave information to the visitors at the Türkiye stand about the history of Turkish bread, wheat types with a ten thousand year old history in Anatolia, types of bread made from these wheats and Anatolian culture.

Romania Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Mustafa Yıldız made the following assessment: “We were expecting such intense interest in our stand because the smell of the breads we prepared, inspired by the rich Anatolian culture, covered the entire area. Our assorted breads, which totaled 110 kilograms, were sold out in less than an hour.”

Ali Kök, owner of Pantep Bakeries, used the following expression about the festival: “We are proud to introduce Türkiye’s rich gastronomy in an international festival.”
