Turkish to be Added to Audio Guide Service in Hungarian Parliament

With the initiatives of Budapest Yunus Emre Institute (YEI), Turkish will be added to the audio guide service in the Hungarian National Assembly.

In a statement made by Yunus Emre Institute, it was stated that the Parliament building in Budapest, one of the most important landmarks of Hungary and one of the favorite tourist attractions, will start to provide audio guide service in Turkish for the first time.

A GREAT INDICATOR OF FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES

In the statement, noting that Turkish visitors would have the opportunity to get to know the Parliament building, one of Hungary's favorite monumental buildings, more closely with the Turkish audio guide within the scope of the cooperation with the Parliament, it was said, "With the cooperation, the inclusion of Turkish among other languages in addition to English, French, German, Russian, Spanish languages will be a great indicator of the friendship between the two countries. The guide, which is voiced by the Budapest Yunus Emre Institute lecturer, will be put into service in December."

In the statement, it was also said, "Approximately 70 thousand Turkish tourists visit Hungary, especially the capital Budapest, every year. It is estimated that the number of visitors will increase even more after the decision to celebrate 2024 as the mutual Culture Year between the two countries. On this occasion, it is thought that the Turkish guide will make a positive contribution to Hungarian tourism. The Turkish audio guide will serve not only Turkish tourists but also visitors from the Turkic world."

EUROPE'S SECOND LARGEST PARLIAMENT BUILDING

The neo-gothic style Parliament Building, which was built with 40 kilograms of gold, is the second largest parliament building in Europe, with 691 rooms and 20 kilometers of stairs reaching a height of 96 meters. The building, which is also actively used by the Hungarian Parliament, also houses the royal jewels and crown.
