Turks Living Abroad “In the Footsteps of Yunus”

The “In the Footsteps of Yunus” program series, organized by Yunus Emre Institute to bring Yunus’ view of the world together with music, attracts great interest from Turks living abroad.

The Institute first launched the series in Cologne and Amsterdam, and next moved on to Warsaw and Berlin.

On November 19, 2022, TV host and writer Serdar Tuncer was accompanied by Artist Zejd Soto from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the program of poetry and music recital held at Belotto Hotel in Warsaw.

Nearly 250 people including Turks living in Poland, representatives of local institutions and organizations, Polish art lovers and guests attended the program where Serdar Tuncer discussed Yunus Emre's world of thought.

YUNUS’ VERSES MET WITH MUSIC

In the program, Serdar Tuncer gave the guests unforgettable moments by performing many works reflecting the depth of Yunus Emre's philosophy, especially with pieces such as “Gönüller Yapmaya Geldim (I Came to Make Hearts), "Gel Gör Beni” (Come See Me), "Bir Kez Gönül Yıktın İse” (Once You Break A Heart), " Aşkın Aldı Benden Beni (Your Love Took Me Away from Me), and “Bir Miskinlikte Buldular Beni (They Found Me in Laziness).

YUNUS EMRE'S UNIQUE VERSES CONTINUE TO RESONATE IN WESTERN EUROPE

Following the program in Warsaw, the "In the Footsteps of Yunus" program was held in Berlin on November 20, 2022 at the Gloria Event Saal event hall.

Yunus' poems and hymns, in which he expressed understanding and humanitarian values in the most eloquent way, were performed with the presentation of Serdar Tuncer and the interpretation of artist Zejd Soto from Bosnia and Herzegovina to both Turkish and German guests.

In his presentation in which he gave excerpts from Yunus' journey of "Becoming Yunus" and his life, Tuncer said: "If we could give our hearts to Yunus' call, people's relations with each other would be much better, it would be the end of all wars. Wherever there is a lack of anything, it is due to lack of love."

The fourth leg of the program series, which echoed Yunus Emre's messages of peace and coexistence around common values, ended with the intense participation of Turks living in Berlin.
