Young Voices of TÜRKSOY in Montenegro

The third destination of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY) Youth Choir on its Europe and Balkans Tour, organized with the support of the Turkish embassy in Podgorica and Yunus Emre Institute's Podgorica Branch, was Budva, Montenegro.

The concert was held at Old City Outdoor Concert Hall and attended by TÜRKSOY Secretary General Düsen Kaseinov, Turkish Embassy in Podgorica Counselor Bleda Kaçar, and Centinje Espressivo Music Festival Director Miran Begić as well as local and foreign music fans.

Kazakhstan Philharmonic Choir Master Gulmira Gulmira Kuttybadamova acted as the conductor and TÜRKSOY Youth Choir sang the works of the composers from the member countries of TÜRKSOY as well as world classics.

The second destination for the choir was "Espressivo Music Festival," organized in Cetinje. The choir took stage at the Public Museum, and the concert was attended by TÜRKSOY Secretary General Düsen Kaseinov, Azerbaijani Consulate General in Montenegro Counselor Mahir Jafarov, Espressivo Music Festival Director Miran Begić and many music fans from Cetinje.

TÜRKSOY Youth Choir sang the folk songs of TÜRKSOY member countries under the direction of Gulmira Kuttybadamova, and included in its repertoire "Kara Toprak" and "Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım" songs of Turkish folk poet Aşık Veysel on the 125th anniversary of his birth.

As part of its Europe and Balkans Tour, TÜRKSOY Youth Choir will give concerts in Dubrovnik  and Trogir (Croatia) and Lisbon and Cascais (Portugal).
