Yunus Emre Enstitüsü “I Experience Turkey” Competition Took Start

As part of Turkish Summer School organised annually by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, a competition titled “I Experience Turkey” comprised of three phases is held.

The aim of the photography, video and writing competition to be organised online via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram social media accounts by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, is to encourage the current and past students of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Turkish Summer School to share their experiences regarding Turkish culture, arts, history and language, to enable promotion of Turkey's natural, historical and cultural beauties, to contribute in visual and literary arts and to create public awareness on Enstitü's activities based on cultural diversity.

Competition will be held on three main subjects. Participants may enter the competition with their texts, photographs or video works. Social activities as trainings, excursions, festivities, festivals, competitions organised as part of Turkish Summer School for foreign students and in addition gastronomy, cultural heritage, historical monuments, Turkish handicrafts, Turkey's natural beauties are also among topics of the competition. In short, any detail in Turkey that caught students' eyes is a subject of the competition.

 

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Only students of 2016 Turkish Summer School organised under Yunus Emre Enstitüsü may enter the competition.
  2. Participation is free of charges. 
  3. Each participant may compete with a maximum of 2 (two) colour or black-and-white photographs, videos or texts.
  4. The authors of the award-winning works are obliged to document their studentships.
  5. List of conditions for the competition can be found on official website of competition www.yee.org.tr.
  6. Works that serve political agendas, feature explicit or harmful expressions, that are libellous and without public decency, and use company names for any reason will be disqualified.
  7. It is mandatory for participants to like and/or follow Yunus Emre Enstitüsü social media accounts (Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/yeeorgtr, Twitter: https://twitter.com/yeeorgtr, Instagram: https://instagram.com/yeeorgtr) to enter the competition.
  8. Contesting works (photography, video and texts) must be shared on designated social media accounts with #TürkiyeyiYaşıyorum (#IexperienceTurkey) hashtag and Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Turkish Summer School @turkceyazokulu account must be tagged.
  9. Photography and videos must be taken during Turkish Summer School. Otherwise it is a violation of the rules. 
  10. Photographs or videos that received prizes in any past or concurrent competitions and works cropped out of other works and/or have different frames and altered colours may not participate in the competition. Otherwise it is a violation of the rules. Works previously published in any organisation other than a competition, are eligible for competition.
  11. Basic image manipulations on photographs and videos as adjusting the colour, sharpness, contrast, and de-dusting are acceptable. Jury's opinion is the basis.
  12. Participant acknowledges, declares and pledges that he/she is the rightful owner of works uploaded on the website for competition purposes, with all permissions.
  13. When a participant manipulates or alters a work in the competition although he/she does not own the rights to mislead the assessing authority, or enters with a photograph, video or text which previously won a prize or a work based on these although it is restricted in this competition, necessary action will be taken for violation of rules. 
  14. All works sent to compete should be produced by the competitors. It is a violation of the rules to entirely or partially use images or texts by other persons and necessary action will be taken.
  15. All participants in the competition are regarded to have read, fully understood and accepted in advance the rules of the competition. 
  16. If a person violates the rules, the award will be cancelled; all prizes, titles and acquisitions will be revoked.
  17. Yunus Emre Enstitüsü holds the right to cancel, change the rules of the competition or members of jury without prior notice or announcement. Competitors cannot make a claim in this case.
