Turkish Films Garner Attention in Kazakhstan

The Turkish films screened in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, as part of the "Turkish Film Week" event have attracted a great deal of attention from moviegoers.

The event organized by Yunus Emre Institute in cooperation with the Directorate General of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey started with "Uzun Hikaye" (A Long Story), directed by Osman Sınav, with Kenan İmirzalıoğlu, who was popular in Kazakhstan, as its lead actor.

The event drew a great deal of attention from moviegoers in Kazakhstan, where Turkish films and soaps were popular, as well as from the distinguished guests, and was hosted by cinema theaters in Keruen Shopping Mall in Nur-Sultan. 

As part of the film week, "Patron Mutlu Son İstiyor" (Boss Wants a Happy Ending), "Kelebeğin Rüyası" (The Butterfly's Dream), "Hokkabaz" (The Magician), "Ekşi Elmalar" (Sour Apples), "Unutursam Fısılda" (Whisper If I Forget), "Ertuğrul 1890" and one of Yeşilçam's masterpieces, "Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım" (The Girl with the Red Scarf) were screened between November 18 and 25, 2019, and the event was covered extensively in the Kazakh media outlets.
