London First Destination In Year of Turkish Cuisine

Yunus Emre Institute continues to promote Turkish cuisine abroad. The first event, themed as "Afiyet Olsun" (Enjoy Your Meal), will be held in London within the framework of 2020 Year Turkish Cuisine...

Famed chef and food anthropologist Musa Dağdeviren will be hosted at this year's first event in "Bir Tutam Anadolu" (A Pinch of Anatolia), launched by Yunus Emre Institute's London Branch in 2019 to promote the deep-rooted and rich culinary culture of Anatolia. The Institute is planning to bring the richness of Turkish cuisine to gastronomy aficionados with three different events to be held on January 26, 28 and 30.

At the first event to be held at Kings College, one of the most prestigious university in England, on January 26, the episode featuring Musa Dağdeviren of Netflix's documentary "Chef's Table" covering the lives of famous chefs of the world will be screened, followed by talk by Dağdeviren. Then, Dağdeviren will sign his book "The Turkish Cookbook," which was listed in the "Chef Book" category in the 2020 Gourmand Awards, for the participants.

In the event, slated for January 28, Chef Dağdeviren will meet chefs, food bloggers and gastronomy writers who are keen on Turkish cuisine. The event will be held at Laz@Camden in London, and the guests will be offered the Turkish delicacies prepared by the chef while listening to descriptions of the recipes prepared in special days, stories on food and tips on which food is prepared on which season.

The last event, to be held on January 30, will be open to everyone who is curious about Turkish cuisine as Chef Dağdeviren will present a menu made up of original recipes from his research in Anatolia, from little-known regional dishes to those which Turkish cuisine famous for.
