The program catalog of the "Turkey in the World Cultural Heritage: Archaeology Summer School," organized by the Yunus Emre Institute for the first time in 2019, has been published.

The catalog covers historical heritage of Turkey, the views of our foreign guests at the summer school, articles by experts on Troy, Göbeklitepe, and the Hittite civilization, and showcases Anatolia's archaeology.

With detailed information on the program and route followed during the two-week Archaeology Summer School across Turkey's leading historical and touristic cities, the catalog provides a comprehensive account of the sites visited.

In the catalog, readers can have access to the perceptions of the participants who came to Turkey from different parts of the world, articles written by Troy Historical Site Excavation Head Prof. Dr. Rüstem Aslan, Göbeklitepe Excavation Committee Chairman Celal Uludağ and Hattusa Archaeological Excavations Head Prof. Dr. Andreas Schachner and the diary penned by Nur Syazwani Naqibah, who participated from Malaysia.

Twenty one young people who studied social sciences including archaeology, museums, art history, geography and history at various countries and who were keen on cultural heritage and Turkey's archaeology attended the World Cultural Heritage: Archaeology Summer School, held with a view to promoting Turkey's cultural heritage more closely, between July 22 and August 4, 2019, on a route extending to Çanakkale, İzmir, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Ankara, Çorum and Istanbul.

The program, prepared under the consultancy of Troy Historical Site Excavation Head Prof. Dr. Rüstem Aslan, was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Southeastern Anatolia Project Regional Development Administration and Governorship of Çorum.

The participants visited Çanakkale, İzmir, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Ankara, Çorum and Istanbul for two weeks, meeting excavation site heads, museum directors, academics, excavation staff and other experts in the field and receiving briefing on Turkey's archaeological heritage. The Archaeology Summer School had a very rich program such as visits to archaeological excavation sites, academic seminars by field experts, museum visits, workshops, cultural events, and sightseeing tours in the cities. In addition, the participants had a chance to pay visits to historical and cultural sites in Istanbul and other cities and learn more about Turkey with diverse activities such as Turkish cuisine events and artistic workshops.
