TURKISH HOUSE IS WORK OF THE “COMMON MIND’’TÜRK EVİ “ORTAK AKLIN” ESERİDİR

The Turkish house is described as the work of the “common mind’’, from the intellectual stage to the design and production stage, in the exhibition where the life adventure of the Turkish house extending until today is the subject. Regarding the construction phase of the house in Anatolia, the following statements are included in the articles on the information boards for the visitors in the exhibition:

“When a person decided to build a house, he would send a sack of wheat to the house of the master he met. If the master was willing to do that job, he would keep the wheat. So the work would begin. First, the master and the family who gave the job needed to know each other well. The master knew the employer thoroughly. Was he well-off, how many children did he have, and will he have another?... The employer would also tell the master what he thought about the house he wanted. Some used to show their wishes by taking masters to the samples they knew and saw before.

THE OTTOMAN CITY TURNS INTO A WORK OF ART WITH BAY WINDOWS

In the statement in the exhibition for the bay window, which was developed as an aesthetic solution to connect the Turkish house with the street, it is said, “The bay windows with windows on three sides allow the house to receive more sunlight and provide the view of the street and the city like a theater lodge. The Turkish house, enriched with the bay windows, transforms the Ottoman city and street texture into a work of art.’’

The exhibition, which will meet with art lovers until June 12 at Yunus Emre Institute, which is one of the stopping points on the route of the Capital Culture Road Festival, will be open to visitors between 10.00-17.00.
